Big Love, take II
We're really slow. I don't watch TV very often as it is, so it's difficult for me to devote hours upon hours at a time. I'm only up to episode 5 of Big Love, "The Affair". I remember when this show first aired on HBO, this particular episode was all a buzz on the ex-mormon and post-mormon forums. Even though I avoided Big Love threads, I still noticed the chatter for this episode, and I can see why! It cemented each character into who they are. And Nicky... well I finally see what everyone else sees in her, she is a riot to watch! I still relate to Margene the most, because I've always been the youngest. I'm loving this show!

Hey Christie, Shiree and I are also into the Big Love shows right now.. We just finished watching episode 8 (Easter). It sucks that their are only 4 more and then we have to wait till NEXT YEAR..
Makes me want to get HBO so we can watch them when they air next year instead of waiting until they come out on DVD.. If by chance we get HBO, we'll have to have you guys over to watch them with us..
I think I possibly ran into a "Big Love" movie set in the Sugar House / Holiday area while I was serving papers. Do you know if it is filmed here in SLC? Obviously some scenes are because they often show the temple in the background and the SLC landscape. But what about their houses and neighborhood? Can't figure out where that is.
Rob, I know what you mean! We're tempted to subscribe to HBO too, and not just for Big Love, they just have so many great shows that I would actually watch. I'm just doing my best to avoid one more monthly expense.
I looked it up on IMDB, and found that Big Love is filmed here and in Santa Clarita, California. I think they do some location shoots here, but probably have their studio in California. That's very common for a TV shows and movies.
BTW, did you hear how your youngest son was putting the moves on my girls? I'm wondering where he learned those tactics... he's got some smooth moves for anyone, let alone a 3 year old! ;-)
I'd hold off on subscribing to HBO if it's their shows you want to see. They don't have any of their major original shows (Sopranos, Big Love, Rome, Deadwood, Entourage) on the air right now. Showtime is the place to go for original programming, at least until March or so of 2007.
Okay, okay. I may have to check this show out sometime. I haven't seen ONE episode yet. The way people keep raving about this show, I'm obviously missing out!

I wonder how Bill would react if any of the wives started sleeping with each other. I can't really imagine it with these particular characters, but I'm thinking it has to happen in polygamy.
And for that matter, why don't they just have threesomes or foursomes? Why is it all about Bill?
Randy- We've got 3 months of HBO free right now, and I can't say I've watched one thing in the month we've had it. It's probably a good idea for me to just buy the shows on DVD that I want to watch. I'm really slow about it, so I don't think netflix would be a good idea, either.
Sideon- I hope we haven't built your hopes up too highly, but I'm really enjoying this show. I enjoy it more and more with each episode. Give it a try and let me know what you think?

I am really behind on this. I haven't seen any of the show. We don't have HBO. I have been considering signing up for Netflix so I might have to catch it that way. I am dying to see this show!
Rented them all and had a LOL weekend!! LOve Nicky!! We were stringing lights and I am a blonde, my husband got pissed because I couldn't figure which way he was wanting them so I yelled "sorry I am like Margene when you obviously need a Barb!" He nearly fell of the roof laughing!
I can't get enough Nicki..or Mary Louise, for that matter, if you are a Weeds fan.
